Adult Services
Our House, Inc. Employment Services provide the following services for adults:
Job Sampling: Job sampling enables individuals to try out various jobs for a short period of time and to decide the type of
position they prefer. Job sampling can also enhance the
interview process and assist employers in determining if a candidate is well suited for a particular position. It allows the employer
to become familiar with people with disabilities and the Supported Employment process. During job sampling, the individual is paid
minimum wage by Our House and is covered under our Liability and Worker's Compensation policies.
Job Placement: A full range of service options are available for competitive employment. Job development, job coaching, and follow along services are provided based on an individual's needs. Accommodations and job support are provided as necessary.
- Job Development: Our House, Inc. Employment Services assist an individual in finding competitive employment. Employment Services employment specialists assist with resume development, completing applications, speaking with employers, and negotiating with employers on behalf of the individual. The Employment Services department has been helping people find jobs for almost 20 years.
- Job Coaching: Job coaching enables individuals to learn the work and social skills necessary to become valued employees. Supported employees work one-on-one with a qualified employment specialist who will help them learn skills for the work environment and provide on-site training to learn all the aspects of their job.
- Follow along: Employment specialists will continue to provide support to individuals at
their jobs. Staff will provide monthly visits to help individuals at work and provide ongoing training and consultation as necessary.
