Transition Services
Our House's Transition Services are geared towards students
who are preparing for the transition from school to adult life. Services can be broken down into two main components:
- Community Based Vocational Assessment
- Job Placement/Job Coaching services
Job Placement and one-on-one Job Coaching Services enables the student to gain essential vocational and social skills necessary for their future success in employment, and identifies the training and support needs required to maintain employment.
Job placement involves identifying a business with a job opening that suits the student's interests and skills, negotiating work tasks, schedules, hours, wages, and any accommodations or job modifications that may be needed. One-on-one job coaching is provided at the job site to help the student adjust to the employer's expectations for quantity and quality of work.
