Recreational Services

Recreation is an important component of the Our  House  mission.     Socialization is paramount for the happiness and well-being  of the individuals  we serve.   We offer two types of recreational programs, Club  OH!, which are themed dances and the Excursion Club, which offers exciting trips each month.   They are attended by residents,  supported employees and community members.  Under the direction of our staff,  individuals practice social skills,  leadership skills,  and are encouraged to participate in fitness classes.   The summer is kicked off with  the most anticipated event – the Annual Carnival, held each year at a local park and features entertainment, crafts, games and food for all to enjoy.  This wonderful event is underwritten by the Artie Picon Recreation Fund so that everyone is able to attend.

There  are  so  many  fun  things  offered in  the  recreation  program  geared  to  all interests.  Some of the activities enjoyed by the individuals served by Our House: Men’s  Club   meets once a month and they enjoy attending car shows,  laser tag, and monster golf.   Our Ladies Night offers pottery classes, glamour night and Irish Step Dancing.   Enrichment Classes  are offered in five weekly sessions.   The classes offered are healthy cooking, creation station, bowling, to name a few.

This year the club members enjoyed many excursions.    Some of the trips they enjoyed  included  Medieval  Times,  Dave  and  Busters,  Spirit  Cruise,  Adventure Aquarium and the Somerset Patriots Game.
